Engineered wood flooring in Beddington is a great fit for a barn conversion annex, especially when the project needs to honour exposed timber and brickwork. In this case study, we show how Tom fitted M602 Chateau Dawn smoked oak planks in his new home office and guest annex, getting the rustic look he wanted in 2 days.
The Problem
Tom was converting a rustic outhouse barn building on his property in Beddington into a home office and guest annex. He wanted a floor that would honour the rustic style of the barn conversion but needed something stable enough to handle the slight temperature fluctuations common in a converted outbuilding.
The Solution
For Tom’s barn conversion annex in Beddington, the answer was a smoked engineered wood with real rustic character. He chose the M602 Chateau Dawn flooring from our range. The smoked oak finish offered deep variations in colour that immediately matched the exposed timber beams of the barn conversion. Being an engineered wood, it provided the authentic look of rustic oak while offering the structural stability needed for the space.
The Installation
Given the nature of the building at Tom’s Beddington property, the fitters laid a heavy-duty damp-proof membrane over the concrete base. The smoked oak planks were then glued down securely to ensure zero movement. The installation took 2 days due to the irregular cuts needed around the original brickwork walls.
The Result
The annex at Tom’s Beddington property now has an incredibly high-end, cosy feel. The smoked oak tones completely ground the room, creating a seamless blend between the historic feel of the building and a modern workspace.
Customer Testimonial
“I wanted something that looked like it belonged in an old barn but didn’t want to break the bank going for reclaimed timber. I needed something that worked both visually and structurally and this did both. We are really happy with the choice we made.”
