Conservatory flooring in Richmond, South West London does not have to mean ripping up old tiles and starting again. In this case study, we show how Anna covered her cracked ceramic conservatory floor with a Large Mosaic Effect sheet vinyl in a single afternoon. The result was a warmer, more usable room all year, without the cost or disruption of a full rip-out.
The Problem
Anna and Steven from Richmond, South West London, had a conservatory she rarely used. The old ceramic floor tiles were cracked, hard underfoot and freezing cold in winter. She wanted a softer, warmer floor to make the room usable all year, but lifting the tiles and starting again would have been a huge, expensive job.
The Solution
For Anna’s conservatory in Richmond, the answer was to work with what was already there. Once the cracks in the old ceramic were filled, we helped her choose a Large Mosaic Effect sheet vinyl to lay directly over the top. The large pattern suited the bright, open feel of the conservatory, and the vinyl was far warmer underfoot than the ceramic it covered.
The Installation
After a quick levelling compound was used to smooth out the old tile grout lines, the large sheet of vinyl was rolled out and trimmed to fit the edges of the conservatory glass panels. The laying process itself was extremely quick.
The Result
The conservatory is now a comfortable, usable room again. The large mosaic pattern gives it a Mediterranean feel, and Anna avoided the high cost of demolition and retiling that a full rip-out would have meant.
Customer Testimonial
“I hated the cold tiles in the conservatory. Rolling this vinyl straight over the top was the cheapest and easiest fix. The room is so much warmer now, and the large pattern looks great in the sunlight. We like things a little bit different and are not ones for going for the normal plain look that everyone else does. This ticks all the boxes and we are so happy.”
