The Problem
Arthur Stevenson in Wallington had a traditional dining room with old laminate flooring that was starting to peak and separate at the joints. He wanted to invest in a real, premium wood floor that would look the part and suit his large family dining table, but he specifically wanted wide planks to make the room look longer.
The Solution

At 190mm wide, these large natural oak planks were exactly the scale needed for the dining room. The wide profile reduced the number of visible joints across the floor, drawing the eye across the room and making the space look far more expansive.
The Installation
The installation team removed the old laminate and fixed a few squeaky floorboards underneath at Arthur’s Wallington home before starting. The 190mm wide planks were floated over the 3mm gold rubber sound-reducing underlay and clicked securely together, with expansion gaps left neatly under the skirting boards. The job was completed in 1.5 days.
